Excellent opportunity to be involved with a dynamic junior sailing class in Victoria, coach motivated young sailors and improve your sport management skills!

About the Role
Reporting to the Victoria International Optimist Dinghy Association (VIODA) committee. Based in Melbourne, the VIODA Head coach is responsible for managing and delivering the VIODA sailing program.
This is not a full-time position. Attendance to main regattas, VIODA clinics and key coaching sessions is compulsory and attendance by other coaches to select regattas/coaching events needs advance planning.

Key responsibilities
You will be an inspiration behind a strong coach team and the young VIC Optimist sailors. Key responsibilities will consist of:
Prepare, coordinate and deliver a State based training and development program on behalf of VIODA
Train and develop all VIODA sailors including the Victoria Optimist Sailing Team
Support the engagement and development of new and intermediate sailors to aspire to high performance sailing
Work in collaboration with other coaching VIODA partners
Work in collaboration with and assist club coaches to optimise athlete development
Contribute to the development of the VIODA, AS and VIS high performance culture and environment

Experience Required
We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic dinghy coach, looking to exceed and make their mark in a competitive sailing environment. You will be strongly considered if you have the following:
Domain expert in the International Optimist.
Previous participation in major dinghy events as a sailor.
Proven & relevant high-performance coaching experience
Ability to manage a diverse group of stakeholders
Proven project management and reporting experience
Current AS Sailing Coach Accreditation (or overseas equivalent)
Current Boat Driver’s License including AS Safety Boat certificate
Current Victorian Working with Children Check
Current First Aid qualification with CPR
Excellent interpersonal, planning and self-directed skills
Minimum skills in social media apps and web page management
