This week, we have the pleasure to welcome a gold medallist at the Sydney 200 Olympics: Mark Turnbull!
Mark started in Sabot from which he then sailed many classes such as 420, Laser Radial, 470 and 49ers.
Mark is a quiet achiever. When you speak to him, nothing gives away that he is such a good sailor! Many of our VIODA sailors would have met him at RBYC or at regattas and none realised he is an Olympic champion!
Not only an amazing sailor, also a fantastic sailing event organiser. To name a few, Mark has supported the organisation of the Volvo Ocean Race stopovers in Melbourne, various Sail Melbourne / Sailing World Cup, Melges 24 Worlds, Int 14 Worlds, Finn Gold Cup, Festival of Sails and just recently the Sailing Champions League in Asia Pacific.
